Trend Filter - bias, momentum and noise reduction (MT4)

Trend Filter turns raw price into a clean bias line or histogram so you can trade with the dominant direction, time pullbacks and avoid chop on MetaTrader 4. Depending on the build, it supports color flips, zero or midline, signals and alerts.

What it shows

• Bias: positive or green states indicate bullish conditions, negative or red - bearish.
• Flips: color change or midline cross marks a regime switch.
• Compression: flat or narrowing behavior warns of consolidation.
• Divergence: price makes HH or LL while the filter lags - possible reversal.

Trade ideas

1. Trend pullback: buy pullbacks when the filter stays on the confirming side and turns back up. Mirror for shorts.
2. Breakout validation: take breakouts only if the filter holds alignment and strengthens after the close.
3. Reversal with divergence: require a midline or signal cross to trigger.
4. Multi TF: higher TF for bias, enter on lower TF when price and the filter flip together.

Installation (MT4)

1. Open MetaTrader 4 - File - Open Data Folder.
2. Copy Trend Filter Indicator.ex4 to MQL4/Indicators.
3. Restart MT4 or refresh Navigator and attach Trend Filter.
