Williams Fractals — (MT4)
Williams Fractals mark swing highs/lows with clear up/down arrows based on a 5‑bar pattern (high‑centered for up fractal, low‑centered for down fractal). They help you locate structure, time breakouts, and set protective stops on MetaTrader 4.
What it shows
- Up fractal: highest high with two lower highs on each side.
- Down fractal: lowest low with two higher lows on each side.
- Structure map — recent swing points to trail stops or draw breakout levels.
- (Optional) MTF confirmation and alerts on new fractal or level break.
Trade ideas
- Breakout: place a buy stop a tick above the last up fractal (sell stop below the last down fractal).
- Alligator + Fractals: trade only in Alligator direction; trigger on fractal break with trend.
- Stop placement: hide stops beyond opposite fractal; trail to the latest swing as price moves.
- Range tactics: fade tests of prior fractals inside a range with confirmation.
Inputs that matter
- Fractal lookback (usually fixed 2‑2) and shift.
- Arrows/alerts on create/break.
- MTF (optional) for higher‑TF structure.
Suggested usage
- M5–M15: breakout triggers with a filter (trend/volatility).
